Dewan & Edricka Greene
Mr. Dewan Shelton Greene, Sr is native of Houston, Texas. After graduating with Honors from James Madison High School (3.85 GPA - Top 5%); Dewan continued his education at The University of Houston with a Double Major in Communications and Radio & Television. In 1997, Dewan began to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Houston. As a result of September 11, 2001, our country was at war. Dewan made a decision to take a position in Iraq (September 2004).
From 2004 to 2008, Mr. Greene supported Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Network/ Telecommunications Technician and eventual IT Network Operations Supervisor. In 2008, Dewan took an assignment and position in Kandahar, Afghanistan (Birthplace of “The Taliban”) to support Operation Enduring Freedom. While serving as Site Project Manager/Help Desk/Data Center Manager, Mr Greene was responsible for managing daily operations of all Help Desk/Data Center functions.
As a GS-12 (Army Captain “O-3” Equivalent) Department of Defense Contractor, Dewan worked directly for JNCC-A (Joint Network Operations Control Center - Afghanistan); while managing the NIPRNET (USA Unclassified), SIPRNET (USA Classified), CENTRIXS (NATO Classified).
After nearly 10 years, Mr. Greene decided to resign and travel back to America in 2013, after being credited with over 18 Commendations for Outstanding Service to our Warfighters. During his tenure in Afghanistan, Dewan met his current wife, Edricka Greene (CFO of Greene House Effect Productions and Owner/CEO of Beyond Image Holistic Health & Fitness, LLC).
Currently on his fourth passport, Dewan and his wife continue to travel abroad to assist in various ministry missions. While on a recent trip to Tanzania, Africa they had the pleasure of spending time at an orphanage and community center named Mwandaliwa Orphanage Center, which serves the Mbweni Community in the region of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. As the old African Proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child”; the goal is to help empower the people of the community with skills and support they need to effect positive changes within their community. As a result, “Make Moves 4 Change” was initiated; which is a “Movement” including events with performing artists, fitness and health awareness. As life continues, so will the work of Mr. Greene and “The Greene House” . .
Edricka Greene (maiden name - Burnett) is a native of Augusta, Georgia. At the young age of 11, Edricka became active in various sports and soon realized the importance of keeping her "temple" healthy. She wanted to look and feel her best while encouraging others to do the same, which led her to pursue a degree in Exercise Sciences. In addition to obtaining various academic scholarships, Edricka joined the U.S. Army Reserves to help cover her college tuition.
Edricka earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology & Health Sciences from Georgia State University in 2002. As a result of the 9/11 attack, her army reserve unit was deployed to Iraq in January 2003. During her deployment, Edricka was offered an opportunity to serve and work as a civilian contractor. After completing her military deployment, she accepted a position as a civilian contractor and served in various roles (i.e. Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Supervisor; Senior Operations Coordinator; Government Liaison) for 10 years throughout Iraq and Afghanistan.
During her tenure as a government contractor, Edricka was blessed to travel the world and form long lasting relationships with people from
different cultures. She also met her “Soul Mate” in Afghanistan and moved to Houston, TX to become Mrs. Greene in 2014! Edricka continued pursuing her passion for health and fitness by obtaining her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and Holistic Health Coach training through Legacy Holistic Health Institute (LHHI).
Edricka is the Founder & CEO of Beyond Image Holistic Health & Fitness, LLC. In addition to health and fitness coaching, Edricka is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and CFO of Greene House Effect Productions, LLC.
